What were the ideals, aesthetics, and spirit of cultural renewal that defined Catalan Modernism in literature? Josep Lluís Benet Vidal, Maria Guirau, and David Castells will delve into—among other topics—*Els sots feréstecs*, the first Catalan modernist novel, and its connection to La Garriga.

After starting to sing at the age of 10 at the Círculo Portuense de Ópera and studying at the Conservatory, she fell in love with the Casas de Fado, which she never left. MUSIC: "Solstici" Maria Castell in concert

The singer-songwriter from Granollers Maria Castell presents Solstici, a multidisciplinary show directed by Enric Vilageliu, where music, dance and image intertwine to reflect on climate change and the role of women in the transformation of the world. Accompanied by Cati Plana (diatonic accordion), Naima Ventura (keyboards), Marta Lapuerta (percussion) and the dancers of the Esbart Dansaire de Rubí, Castell fuses Catalan pop-folk, modern-rooted dance and visuals inspired by the four elements of the earth.

The Suite from 'The Nutcracker' is one of the most popular works in the ballet repertoire, especially during the winter season. The combination of Christmas elements and the fantasy of a dream world full of sweets and magical creatures is key to the universal appeal of this ballet. Throughout the show, a wide variety of character dances are developed, each representing different cultures or styles. This inclusion has made the ballet particularly popular with young audiences and families.

Notícies
You can now check out and sign up for the activities organised by the La Garriga Visitor Centre.
In addition to the usual visits and itineraries (the station shelter, Modernism, La Doma...), this quarter includes new activities and special programmes.
This week, work will be carried out to repair the left abutment of the Can Noguera bridge—an initiative that is part of the project to improve the Congost River's riparian environment.
From October 16 to 18, La Garriga celebrates the 15th edition of the Modernist Days, an event that will transport us back to the early 20th century.
