La Garriga will receive, as is tradition, the Canigó Flame to celebrate the eve of Sant Joan.

It will be on the evening of next Tuesday, June 23. The events will start at 6:30 p.m., with the Flame's arrival at Plaça de Can Caralt. There, a torch will be lit and carried, in relays, through the streets of Calàbria, Carretera Nova and Banys.

The City Council has issued a municipal ban informing about the prohibition of making bonfires and launching rockets, due to the risk of forest fires.

The text of the ban is as follows:

"I, Meritxell Budó Pla, Mayor of the City Council of La Garriga, address this ban to all citizens to remind them that, although the risk of fire is currently moderate, weather forecasts indicate that this summer will be dry and hot, creating an ideal scenario for forest fires.

On Saturday, May 23, the 5th edition of the Raspall Legacy will be held, a day to get to know the figure of the architect Manuel J. Raspall, through different activities.

When, 120 years ago, Manuel J. Raspall began working as municipal architect of La Garriga, he began working in a rural town that was already in the midst of transformation into a summer resort.

At the end of the 19th century, after the construction of the Passeig, the first urban planning of the town had already been drawn up (the first POUM, in current acronyms).

The Cooperation Days are held from May 8 to 30, with exhibitions and talks that will bring us closer to the different cooperation projects that are carried out from La Garriga.
