From September 18 to 20, the pedestrian zone will be expanded and closed to motorized traffic, and on Sunday, the Church Square (Plaça de l'Església) will host a performance.
La Garriga is once again participating in European Mobility Week, held from September 16 to 22, which aims to promote more sustainable, safe, and healthy mobility habits.
To this end, starting at 5:00 PM on September 18 and continuing until Sunday the 20th, La Garriga will expand the pedestrian zone in the area between Carrer Banys/Carrer Blancafort and Carrer Calàbria/Carretera Nova.
Additionally, on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM, everyone can enjoy a visual bicycle-based circus performance titled *L'Y - ànsia per volar* (L'Y - Yearning to Fly) by Yldor Llach in the Church Square.
Refreshments will be served to the audience immediately afterwards.
For sustainable mobility
La Garriga continues to work on promoting and facilitating sustainable mobility. Planned actions include creating a bike lane to connect the Can Noguera sports complex with Plaça dels Tres Tombs, and closing Carrer Santa Maria del Camí (near Avinguda de la Generalitat) and Carrer Ametlla (near Carrer Guinardó) to traffic during school drop-off and pick-up times.
New shelters will also be installed at select bus stops and the taxi stand to improve passenger comfort. Furthermore, La Garriga will formally join the Association of Municipalities for Mobility and Urban Transport (AMTU) at the upcoming plenary session in September.
