The Cooperation Days are held from May 8 to 30, with exhibitions and talks that will bring us closer to the different cooperation projects that are carried out from La Garriga.
La Garriga has a Cooperation Council, is a member of the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament and, since 2007, has allocated 0.85% of the municipal budget to provide financial support to development cooperation projects, through an annual call for subsidies. In addition, there is a specific item to attend to humanitarian aid campaigns in emergency situations.
To bring this reality closer to all citizens, the Cooperation Days are held every year, a series of talks and exhibitions to learn more about the cooperation projects that are carried out from La Garriga and to get closer to conflicts and situations that occur everywhere.
This year, we will learn about the work of Manos Unidas, delve into the life and resistance of women in the Middle East through the illustrations of Nadine Feghaly, review the conflict in Palestine and get closer to the work of midwives in Chiapas.
In addition, during the conference, the ceremony of naming Teresa Niubó as Garriguenca Illustrious will also be held, the Núria Albó Library will offer a Documentary for Global Justice exhibition and the Vil·la Romana Institute will prepare an exhibition on why 0.7% of GDP is allocated to development cooperation.
The activities will be divided between the Torre del Fanal, the Plaça de l'Església and the library. You can consult the details in the attached program.
Methodological workshop on project management cycle
On May 28th from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Torre del Fanal, training will be given aimed at municipal technicians and technicians and entities in the territory that carry out development cooperation and/or humanitarian action tasks and that are interested in participating in the municipal call for cooperation and solidarity grants.
The workshop aims to deepen, based on critical reflection, knowledge in the formulation of projects based on the use of planning methods and tools such as the GCP-EML: Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework Approach.
