You can now consult and sign up for the activities scheduled by the La Garriga Visitor Center for the first quarter of the year.
In addition to the usual visits and itineraries (the station shelter, modernism, the family activity Wake Up Holmes!...), this quarter includes new features and special programs.
We especially highlight the activities dedicated to the Commemoration of the Bombing.
The traces and memories of the Spanish War are many and diverse. La Garriga and, in general, our land and its people
are full of them. But some of these traces are almost invisible. And, among these hidden marks of the conflict, there are
without a doubt those of the resistance and armed struggle against the dictatorship. The maquis, the guerrillas.
La Garriga preserves spaces and stories of the war that have been recovered and socialized in recent years: the station's air raid shelter, the Rosanes airfield, the bombed areas, the refugees, the mass grave of La Doma... The Maquis' connection with La Garriga, on the other hand, has remained almost completely hidden.
The events commemorating the 87th anniversary of the bombing and promoting peace begin on January 29 with the institutional act of remembrance of the victims of the La Garriga bombing and until February 27, activities such as guided tours, talks, dramatized visits, book presentations, theatrical performances, a bike ride, a film forum...
The Botifarra Fair will take place on the weekend of February 28 to March 1 with a range of gastronomic proposals, talks, workshops, as well as guided tours and activities to discover the gastronomic heritage of La Garriga.
On March 8, on the occasion of Women's Day, we will walk with an expert, the historian Meritxell Benedí, with whom we will take the guided tour "The Women's Route of La Garriga" invisible heritage and memory, an opportunity to approach the history of La Garriga from the perspective of women.
The activities are done in Catalan, ask for information to do the activities in other languages.
A lot of activities to discover or rediscover La Garriga from all aspects, natural, thermal, cultural... Consult the Visitor Center's activity brochure for the fourth quarter of the year:
