“What is it that beats so deeply in me?
What is it that shakes my insides?
What is it that forces me to keep moving forward as if being silent or being still meant giving up?
Since I was little I haven't felt the silence.
Since I spoke I haven't stopped doing it.
Since I took a step I have forgotten what it is to sit down and since I danced for the first time I haven't been able to stop doing it.”
In 1518 in Strasbourg a woman stood in the middle of the town square and started dancing. She danced for days, fierce, sleepy, tired, she danced accompanied by everyone who joined her.
Caught by the rhythm of the world, a child appears in an unknown place covered in straw. He wants to find what everyone seems to be looking for. What will be after peace, calm, the peak or the horizon?
Peeking between the river and the sea, a doe.
“Dancing to Death” is a multidisciplinary creation that talks about not knowing how to stop. An exploration of limits and self-demand through music, dance, song and words. 500 years later this frenetic rhythm that leads to death continues to beat in us. What is our dance to death?
