  • At 4:30 p.m. - Guided itinerary 'The Modernism that Couldn't Be'. Starting point Can Raspall at c. Banys, 40

This visit aims to highlight some of the projects that were never carried out or that ended up being modified during the period of Modernist influence in La Garriga. But how to show and explain a reality that never existed? Plans, notes, photographs and various testimonies will help us imagine this Garriga that was never built. We will also try to point out - even though the years have passed - some of the irreversible losses that the local heritage has suffered and that, despite the struggle of some sectors, could not be stopped in time. The aim is to emphasize that each of us can act in favor of the common heritage, whatever the moment we find ourselves in.

  • At 5 p.m. - 'Kaboom!' Show in Plaça de Can Dachs

Sabanni finds himself at a crossroads on his cart journey; he doesn't quite know where to turn and will need the audience to help him decide. With the help of his inseparable companion in adventure Joan Vallcorba, he will use magic, clowning and live music to entertain everyone, as always with the complicity of the audience.

  • At 6 pm - Talk 'The sounds of the turn of the century: the Solfa, Rollos Victoria and pianola music in La Garriga (1905–1930)' in Plaça Santa Isabel

During the first decades of the 20th century, the Blancafort factory in La Garriga produced thousands of pianola rolls that brought music to homes around the world. This talk explores the role of this pioneering industry in the Iberian Peninsula at a time of transition between Modernisme and Noucentisme, when the pianola became a symbol of modernity, refinement and domestic access to music. Jordi Roquer, PhD in Art History and Musicology from the UAB and author of the study “La solfa des de dins”, will show us the decisive role that the Garriga played in the music industry 100 years ago.
