The Documentation Center of Montseny - natural sciences section, of the Natural Sciences Museum of Granollers hosts an exhibition on the Permo-Triassic to make known what the world was like 250 million years ago, just before the appearance of the dinosaurs.

The exhibit, which displays a collection of fossils from the Permian and Triassic periods, a time span spanning about 100 million years and beginning 299 million years ago, will remain until May 12, 2024.

The exhibition proposes a journey through time based on the discoveries of fossils that have been made in the sites of the Pyrenees, Montseny, Mont-ral and Alcover, Serra de Tramuntana and Menorca.

The fauna and flora described in the sites of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands are similar, which shows that 250 million years ago these territories were integrated into the same supercontinent: Pangea.

The exhibition, coordinated by the MUCBO | Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences, the Miquel Crusafont Catalan Institute of Paleontology and the UNESCO Orígens World Geopark, has been financed by the FECYT project "Permo-Trias, cuando la vida casi desapareció de la Tierra" and with the collaboration of the Institute for the Development and Promotion of the Upper Pyrenees and Aran (IDAPA) and the Conca Dellà Museum.
