About LINA_

Few voices resonate more deeply and authentically than LINA_'s. After starting to sing at the age of 10 at the Círculo Portuense de Ópera and studying at the Conservatory, she fell in love with the Casas de Fado, which she never left. Still using the stage name Carolina, she recorded the albums Carolina and EnCantado, published by Sony Music.

A lifelong lover of the work of acclaimed Portuguese fado singer Amália Rodrigues, LINA_ has shown once again why she is one of the best current performers in the Lina_Raül Refree project (which has obtained numerous distinctions and nominations for awards from the press and international institutions, as well as an extensive tour) in which her voice has crossed paths with the art of the award-winning Catalan producer. This art has been refined over the last few years during his residency at the Clube de Fado, refining, in its natural "habitat", the drama that fado demands, but with the inventiveness that only true artists can achieve.

Then came a time of musical growth and expansion of horizons. The renowned Portuguese poet Luís Vaz de Camões was the main inspiration for Fado Camões, an album with a renewed sound, where the center is still and always his vocal expressiveness, sensorial, vibrant, full of life to touch us. Released on January 19, 2024 by Galileo Music, the album was acclaimed by national and international critics, reaching number 1 in the prestigious European World Music Tops - World Music Charts Europe (March 2024), Transglobal World Music Charts Worldwide (April 2024), "Top of the World Tracks" by the British magazine Songlines, and also the distinction of Best Album in the World Music category by the German Association of Music Critics. In addition, this work has been awarded the Manifesto de Interesse Cultural (Manifesto of Cultural Interest) attributed by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture. This year, the multi-award-winning artist has collaborated with Jules Maxwell (composer and keyboardist of Dead Can Dance) and the result has been the album Terra Mãe, released on June 27 by Atlantic Curve | Schubert Music Europe, which celebrates the poetic connections between Portugal and Ireland. The creative proposal of LINA_ and the Irish composer aims to succeed Burn, the album by Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell, released in 2021.
