PLACES LINKED TO HISTORICAL MEMORY

refugi-estacio

The Civil War, from 1936 to 1939, decisively shaped the history and development of our country. It also had a huge impact on many people’s lasting memories. Places, buildings and events which remain etched in the minds of those who lived through them.

In La Garriga, many of these places of historical memory are closely linked to the town’s architectural heritage. Thus we recommend you take a stroll through the urban area, following a route marked by the main ‘historical memory’ sites while enjoying the town’s rich heritage. You will find a small sample of the town’s interlinked history and heritage, which come to life together.

Additionally, in La Garriga you can visit two museums dedicated to wartime memories: the railway station air raid shelter and the Rosanes airfield.
